The Wind in the Willows by Chris Dunn 5–29 Oct 2022 We are pleased to host Chris Dunn Illustration at Calne Heritage Centre between the 5th and 29th of October. Free entry, with prints, books and cards available for purchase.

 We are pleased to be hosting the following upcoming event:  On Friday 23 September at 6pm, in a free event at Calne Heritage Centre, The Friends of the Marden Valley will be presenting three new projects: Robert Willis from 'Icarus Aerial Imaging', will present his drone scape of the Marden Valley, an 8-minute short film. Nick Self from the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will present his report on the Biodiversity of the Marden Valley. Andrew Jones will present his report on the Species Richness of the Marden Valley. Refreshments will be provided.

 Posting on behalf St. Mary's Bell Tower Project: We are embarking on a project to renovate the bell tower, which includes retuning the bells before repositioning them into a new cast iron bell frame, moving and automating the clock in a newly created room, and making safety improvements to the tower. As part of our project to renovate the bell tower, two new bells have been cast, including the Platinum Jubilee bell, as seen on the poster. The existing bells will be taken out of the tower at the end of September, before being tuned and rehung in a new cast iron frame next year. The work is going to cost about £255,000 and we are currently about £20,000 short of our target. You can help us by making a donation towards our target. All donations will be gratefully received. After much work by out fantastic database programmer, Alan, we now have the ability to compile and print an index of our collection. This includes the relevant unique ID for each item, a brief description and a photograph, where available. We are adding to the collection all of the time, so be aware that even if you cannot find what you’re looking for in this version of the index, compiled July 2022, we may still have items of interest to you. Along with adding to our collection, we are always increasing the quality of previous accession information. With that in mind, if you'd like to help us ensure that our fabulous collections are added to our database, making them accessible to researchers, visitors, and our volunteer staff, please do get in touch.
